Anthony V. Comporato Obituary
Anthony V. (Tony) Comporato was born on February 4, 1934 to Gaetano (Tom) and Anna (Leone) Comporato. Tony attended the Holy Cross Catholic School in St Louis and then started his journey to California in 1952. He went to the Catholic Seminary in Santa Cruz. The Seminary was not his calling. He later found work at John Taddei's Service Station in Lodi. That year he met and fell in love with Annetta. It was love at first sight. On March 21, 1953, he married Annetta Wittmayer. They had 3 children, Anthony Jr., Douglas and Diane (Tina). In 1954 Tony went to work at General Mills. He worked his way through the plant from a packer to a material control analyst, until he eventually was the safety director at General Mills. Everyone knew who Tony was. He would work long hours to make sure everything was done and more. Tony not only was in charge of the safety, but the Lodi Lifeguard that was published monthly by him. He worked hard to put the company picnic together for the employees to have a fun day. Tony was a member of the San Joaquin Safety Council. In 1965 he went back to school and received his AA degree. He finally retired on December 31, 1992. After retirement he did what all grandparents do, spend time with grandkids. He loved to travel with his wife, which they did often. Tony was a good and very giving man. He loved his family dearly.

Anthony and Annetta were truly an inspiration to everyone they met and knew. You just knew you were loved by them. They are survived by their three children; Anthony Jr., Douglas (JoAnn), and Diane; Grandchildren: Mark, Audry, Dawson, Dalton, Mersades and Cheyenne; Great-grandchild: Jordan. This was definitely a TRUE LOVE STORY.
