Regina Barba, 85, passed away July 1, 2014, in Elk Grove with her loving family by her side. She was born November 7, 1928, to Jose and Guadalupe DeAnda in Mexico, married at the age of 18 in 1947 to Leandro Barba. They were blessed with eleven children; five sons and six daughters. In 1966 the family immigrated to California and settled in the community of Lodi.

Throughout her lifetime, Regina worked at several jobs, including over 26 years as a seasonal worker at Pacific Coast Producers in Lodi, but her main job was caring for her loving family. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her family, and she would never sit down to eat until everyone else was fed first, family and friends alike. She will be greatly missed.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings and her loving grand daughter, Nancy Barba. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Leandro Barba of Victor; six loving daughters, Celia Galvan of Lodi, Eva Jahnke of St. Charles, Illinois, Mary Lou Marquez of Woodridge, Illinois, Lola Barba of Elk Grove, Silvia Gonzalez of Victor, and Connie Rodriguez of Elk Grove; and five loving sons, Antonio Barba of Galt, Raul Barba of Stockton, Javier Barba of Acampo, Joe Barba of Granite Bay, and Leandro Barba, Jr. (Tito) of Lodi; 40 grandkids and 29 great-grandkids.
There is no visitation. A rosary will be held on Thursday, July 10, at 7:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home located at 725 S. Fairmont Ave. Catholic funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church located at 215 W. Walnut St., Lodi, CA. with committal at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangement.
