Arthur Delmar Ensminger Obituary
Arthur D. Ensminger peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 17, 2014 in Lodi at the age of 89. He was born in Lockeford on March 18, 1925, to John and Emma Ensminger and he remained a life-long resident of the greater Lodi area. He worked for over 30 years as a carpenter with many of those years spent working on the construction of Comanche Dam. He enjoyed gardening and tomatoes were his specialty. Making olives was also something he really enjoyed. Family and friends would look forward to the fall to enjoy his new crop. He was a hardworking and gentle man who could fix just about anything. He had a great love and pride for his family and they treasured his words of wisdom. He greatly enjoyed jigsaw puzzles in the winter on the old round coffee table. He enjoyed playing and laughing often with his family and friends. He was the king of Pollyanna, a board game and he always won at Farkle. Since childhood he has been a member of Fairmont SDA Church. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ed, John, Woodrow, and sister Delilah Tamba. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Loretta Ensminger; son Steve Ensminger (Kathy) of Lodi; grandchildren Heidi Hill (Tim) Portland OR, Mark Ensminger (Jen) Bakersfield; great-grandchildren; Annalise and Dexter Hill; and a brother Chris Ensminger of Tucson, AZ along with many nieces and nephews.
