Eva Fay Lee Obituary
Eva Lee passed away on June 30, 2014, at the age of 90. Born January 11, 1924, in Glen Rogers, West Virginia, she was the 7th child of 11 children born to George and Lula Easley. In 1935 her father sold his farm and moved the family to California where he had always wanted to venture. They moved from place to place, and Eva graduated from Dos Palos High School in 1941. After that she spent some time working at Eagle Field driving a gas truck. In 1943 the family moved to Richmond where she worked as a welder in a ship yard. She worked and contributed to family as did her siblings, and they might say that at times she was the glue that held them together. In 1945 the family once again moved, this time to Stockton where her father bought a house and settled. It was across the street from that house that she would spot Austin Grover Lee, soon to be the love of her life. Austin and Eva married in 1950 and had three children; Linda, David and Susan. Family was the center of their lives. They enjoyed gardening and puttering in their backyard. Celebrating holidays by cooking and baking for family was one of Eva's greatest joys. Vacations and camping with the family were something that Austin and Eva planned for and looked forward to every year. Austin died January 6, 1986, and Eva never remarried, stating that he was all she ever loved and needed, and he could never be replaced. She was happy spending the rest of her days enjoying time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved bargain shopping, especially for books. Vacations and holidays with family, as well as annual treks to the coast, were times she looked forward to and treasured the most. Eva is survived by her daughters, Linda Bellamy of Elk Grove and Susan Lee of Clermont, FL; and a son, David Lee of Lodi. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Nathan Bellamy, Jenner Lee, Scott Lee, Griffin Lee and Betsey Lee. She is also survived by her sister, Joyce Schramek; brothers, Jim Easley and Bill Easley, all of Stockton and William Easley of Florence, Kentucky. Lodi Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
