Gene Larkin 79 passed away October 29, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born November 8, 1932 to James Larkin and Myrtle Larkin Hogeland in John Day, Oregon. Gene lived most of his life in Lodi.

Gene loved studying the California Indians, woodworking, hunting, fishing and serving his community. He shared his knowledge of the California Indians with children and teachers of the Central Valley. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean War. Gene was a founding member of the Lodi Tokay Rotary receiving two Paul Harris fellowships.
He was married to Mary Rodriguez Larkin for 58+ years passing on his deep love of family to his three children, Russell Larkin (Rose), Mary Larkin, and Sandi Mayer (Steven). Grandfather to,Tanisha, Jessica, Tiffany, Jason & Christopher Larkin and Matthew and Nicole Mayer. Great grandfather to 6. A private service will be held by the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in the name of Gene "Red Bird" Larkin to the Oak Grove Docent Council 4520 W. Eight Mile Rd. Stockton, CA 95209.
