Ramona passed away on December 20, 2012, at her home in Acampo, peacefully surrounded by her Quilts. She was born on July 12, 1928 in Minot, ND to Herman and Martha (Boden) Ratzlaff.

She and her late husband, Martin Nappen, moved to California where she began a lifelong career at Pacific Bell. She retired 30 years later as an engineer. During her retirement, Ramona was active in her church, volunteered at the hospital, loved cooking, square danced, traveled, started a telephone retiree RV club and joined numerous social clubs. Her lifelong love of sewing evolved into a passion for quilting thus leaving many beautiful quilts for all of us to admire for years to come.
Ramona is survived by her children Kimberly Fruits and Randy Nappen, grandchildren, Kourtney Taylor, Jeffrey, Randy Scott, Michael Nappen, great grandchildren Kaley Taylor, Ryan, Cameron, Nicholas Nappen, sister-in-laws, Pat and Judy Ratzlaff, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leroy, brothers, Russell, Rudy Ratzlaff, sister Rebecca Nappen, brother-in-law Lowell Nappen and son-in-law, Drexel Fruits.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of Ramon's Life Saturday, January 26th at 11:00 a.m. at her daughters home 24605 N. Watkinson Rd, Acampo with the family requesting you bring your favorite dish for a potluck.
