Kathleen Marie (Klein) Lipelt Obituary
Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Klein Lipelt, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away in Modesto, Ca. on January 1, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Don Lipelt, her sister, Sharon Nelson, her brother Joe Klein, her step-children, Lisa Castellanos, Laurie Rishwain, and Jack Lipelt, niece Danielle Nelson, nephews Aaron Wright, Joe, Clayton, and Cory Klein and her four grandchildren, Michael Wood, Zachary Castellanos, and Jake and Ryan Lipelt.
Kathy was born in Stockton, Ca. where she attended school, graduating from Lincoln High School, Delta College, and the University of the Pacific with a degree in Education. Kathy was an avid sports fan and coached the girl's softball team at Franklin High School for many years. She was also a substitute teacher in Stockton and Lodi, worked in several school offices, and worked for her father in the office at his machine shop before finally retiring in 1995. Kathy loved to fish and after her retirement, she and Don spent a great deal of time in Bodega Bay, at New Melones Reservoir, and on their houseboats in the Delta. They also enjoyed traveling (mostly in search of new boats to buy!) and spending time at their home on Clearlake. Kathy loved the Giants, the 49ers, her home on Mokelumne River, her pets, and most of all her family and close friends. She was a friend to many people, always quick to help out in any way she could. We will miss her warmth, her wonderful personality, her crazy enthusiasm for the Giants, and all the love she gave to all of us. She was a truly loving, caring, and wonderful person, and we will miss her everyday.
A memorial service and celebration of Kathy's life will take place on her birthday, March 30th at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the youth sports organization of your choice.
