Edna Berreth, 94, of Lodi, Ca, met her Lord peacefully with her daughter at her side on April 15, 2013. She was born in Eureka, South Dakota on May 30, 1918 to Barbara and John Wolff. Edna was one of nine children, sisters Bernice Treick, Bertha Pressler, Marge Reich, brothers Walter, Peter and Albert Wolff, a sister Rufina who died at seven years old and an infant brother.

She was married to Milbert (Butch) Berreth on Oct. 21, 1942 in Circle, Montana by Allen Hoff, half brother of Milbert at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband with whom she shared 62 years. Also her loving son-in-law, Cal Pitto who went to heaven seven short months ago.
She is survived by her children; daughter, Sally Pitto of Lodi, son Bruce Berreth (wife Sharon) of Columbus, Ga. and son Gary Berreth. Three granchildren, Haley Pitto of Lodi, Holly Walker, (husband Gusty) of Columbus, Ga and Ryan Berreth (wife Mary Ellen) of Columbus, Ga. Four great dranchildren, one sister, Bernice Treick, of Rapid City, S. Dakota and many nieces, nephews and friends.
When Edna and her husband lived in Lehr, North Dakota, her husband was the burgermeister (mayor) for three years and Edna was the "first lady". They moved their family to Lodi in 1956 and owned a Flying A gasoline station for several years before her husband went to work at the post office and Edna worked at Stokley cannery (Pacific Coast Producers) for over 20 years before retiring.
Edna was a life long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her vegetable garden and flowers. Edna was well known for her outstanding German food and baking. She was always concerned about everyone having enough to eat, even until the day her Lord took her.
Viewing will be at Lodi Funeral Home, Mon., April 22 and Tues., April 23, 2013 from 10am-8pm. A familty graveside service will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park on Wed., April 24, 2013 at 10am. Edna's life will be celebrated at St. Peter Lutheran Church at 11am on that same day with Pastor John Kah officiating both services.
