The Guest Book is expired.
He is survived by the love of his life, Naomi "Dolly" Darlene Hollingsworth, whom he married on June 8, 1957. Family members carrying on his legacy include his son Danny (wife Shirley), and his daughters Susan, Tammie, and Peggy (husband Paul). He had 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his foster mother Wispy Ryan, brothers Dale, Darold, David and Gary, sisters Sandi, Cindy and Mary, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, foster father Jay Ryan, sister Donna, brothers Eddie and Alan, and his son Darold.
Danny spent the best years of his childhood living with the Ryan family. He was a Korean War veteran, devoting 28 years to the military. Dolly chased him all over the West Coast with the kids while he served our country. He helped build the first space shuttle engines and took many "extra" jobs to raise his family, before retiring from Rough and Ready Island/Defense Depot Tracy. He and Dolly spent their retirement years at their beloved lifelong fishing hole, Eagle Lake.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 11th at the Galt Cemetery. Immediately following there will be a potluck gathering at the Galt Grange Hall (where he was a lifetime member). For those who love fishing as much as Danny did, there will also be a Batman celebration of life, with a potluck and pig roast, at Eagle Lake's American Legion Hall on Sunday, May 26th.
