Catherine Wageman, 81, resident of Lodi, Ca., for 54 years, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Catherine, was born Nov 12, 1931, in Lefor, N.D., the eldest of eight children. In 1955, her family moved to Sacramento, Ca, where she worked in a laundromat. Her aunt introduced her to her future husband, David Wageman. On July 14, 1958, they were married in Carson City, NV. She then had the joy staying home and caring for her family. She loved cooking meals, gardening, tending to her flowers, playing cards and helping the neighborhood ladies. She also found delight in her grandchildren, car rides to Reno to visit her sister, and learning about "stuff".

She is survived by her husband of 54 wonderful years, David Wageman; two daughters, Deann Kurtz, and Deborah Cheris, and husband, Gary; five grandchildren, Steven Becher and wife, Lauren, Christopher Kurtz, Shawn Cheris, Amanda Marcum and Charles J. Kurtz; three sisters; Evelyn Walters, Loretta Robinson, Jeanette Hicks and husband, Jim, three brothers; Richard Banyai, Raymond Banyai, and Anthony Banyai and wife, Shirley, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Anton and Anna Banyai, her sister Marilyn Brown and son-in-law, Charles O. Kurtz.
The family has requested a private family gathering to celebrate Catherine's life. Catherine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to give a special thank you and high recommendations to the Arbor Nursing Center for their excellent skills, support and loving care for Catherine in her final days. Also, a thank you to Hospice of San Joaquin for the loving care they gave her up to her final day.
