Cecil was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on February 19, 1933 to Cecil Allen Reese and Betty Lee Sturdivant Reese. He grew up and attended school in the small community of Dawson, Oklahoma.

At the age of seventeen, he moved with his parents to Gridley California. He completed his education in Gridley. In 1952, Reese joined the United States Army and served his country in the Korean theater.
Upon his return from the Far East he married Delores Mae Becker, and they had one child, Mary Lynn Reese.
In 1998, Reese retired from General Mills after having been employed there for more than forty years.
Cecil was a poet at heart. He loved people, music and God above all else. He was an ardent follower of Jesus Christ.
On February 9, 2013, he married an old friend, Fayrene Clark. They were living in Arizona at the time of his death.
Cecil Allen Reese, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2013, in Mesa, Arizona, where he is interred at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
Reese is survived by his wife, Fayrene Clark Reese, one daughter, Mary Lynn Reese, two grandsons, Jason and Jeromie Salazar, and two great grandchildren. Three sisters, Billie Williams, Dorris Hammond, Becky Ann O'brien, and two brothers Jimmy O'brien, Jr. and Larry Dean O'brien also survive him.
Cecil's life will be celebrated at a memorial service, Tuesday, August 13 at 2:00pm at Westside Assembly of God Church, 75 North Crescent Ave., in Lodi.
