Frances Oddo Obituary
Frances Oddo passed away peacefully on the 15th of October under the loving care of those at Fairmont Rehabilitation and Hospice of San Joaquin. She was born on February 16, 1921 to Joseph and Catherine Martinico in Detroit, Michigan. She was an only child and lost her mother at a very early age. She married her child-hood sweetheart, Anthony Oddo on September 6, 1941, in Detroit. They moved to Lodi in 1946, along with their first son Joe, and a few years later a second son Anthony was born. Frances lived a very active life, being a homemaker as well as working at various packing sheds and had a regular clientele of people for whom she did ironing. She also enjoyed cooking, spaghetti being her specialty, gardening and tending to her roses. Playing cards, doing word search puzzles and playing bunko were things she loved doing. She loved watching all sporting events her son Tony and grandsons Nathan and Chris participated in from childhood to adulthood. In her later years, she would travel, as far as Chico, to watch her great grandchildren play sports. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony. Frances is survived by her sons Joe (Cherie) and Tony (Roxanne), grandchildren Erin Smith, Nathan and Chris Oddo, and her great grandchildren Bridgette, Lauren, and Austin Smith. The love she shared with her brother in law, niece, nephew and their families was very special to her.
Visitation will be on Saturday October 19th from 9 am to 5:00 pm at Lodi Funeral Home and a Rosary service will be performed at 6:00 pm on Sunday at Lodi Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday October 21st at Lodi Funeral Home with graveside service to follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne's Catholic Church or Hospice of San Joaquin.
