Ken was born on December 7, 1934 in Abilene, TX and died after a short illness at Lodi Memorial Hospital April 1, 2014. He was preceded in death by his father Carl E. Booth Sr, his mother Betty L. Costa and sister Geraldine Fisher Fields and brother Jerry Shaffer. He attended school in Tracy and Modesto, CA and served in the US Navy. Former employers included Cox Bros Shell in Tracy, Lodi News-Sentinel and Chattanooga Free Press in Cleveland, TN. He was an avid reader and enjoyed the history of the Civil War, World War II, classic automobiles and reminiscing about the good times in the Navy, Tennessee, The Pike in Long Beach and traveling. Ken is survived by his brother Carl Booth, Jr of Kennewick, WA, sisters Beverly Armijo of Ripon and Edith Rollins of Manteca, brothers Tom Shaffer of Ochelata, OK and Dan Shaffer of Bartlesville, OK and Charles Costa of Waldorf, MD. Numerou nieces and nephews including Gwyn Jones of Lodi, David Booth and Michael Booth of Richland, WA, and Bill Booth of Kennewick, WA and his best friends in Cleveland TN Gwen Ledford and James Peters.

The memorial service will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, Highway 99 at East Harney Lane. There is no visitation. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
