CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Eldon S. Gore, 75, of West Fork of Chapmanville, went home to be with the Lord Fri., Jan. 10, 2014, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 12, 1937, in Logan County, he was a son of the late Alvie and Vida Gore. Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Elzie and Roxie Gore and Jim and Elizabeth Farley; one brother, Harry Gore, and one sister, Blanch Dingess.
Eldon was a member of Workman Fork United Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, swinging on the porch, playing with his dogs and talking with friends and family. Eldon was retired from IBEW Local 317 as a Journeyman Lineman and happily married for 56 years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ola Mae Gore; one daughter, Debbie (Mitch) Hensley; four sons, Danny (Katrina) Gore, Randy Gore, Terry (Susan) Gore and Jerry (Bertha) Gore; two sisters, Barbara Moore and Freda Sowdars; three brothers, Freddy Gore, David Gore and Freelin Gore; grandchildren, Shannon (Shaun) Dickey, Natasha (Guy) Conley, Dustin (Paige) Gore, Ashley (Brian) Dalton, Casey (Kelsey) Gore, Mandy Gore, Tori Hensley, Scottie (Kayla) Keller, Ryder Gore, Dylan Gore, Izaiah Garza, Coltin Gore and Levi Gore; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Dalton, Willow Dalton and Bella Keller.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 16, at Workman Fork United Baptist Church with Rev. Manasses Hensley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Gore Family Cemetery at West Fork.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. Wednesday until time of funeral Thursday at the church.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
