Helen Triolo

MITCHELL HEIGHTS, W.Va. — Helen Mary Triolo, 87, of Mitchell Heights, passed away January 19, 2014.

Born at Monaville, W.Va., she was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Logan and was preceded in death by her parents, John Triolo, Sr. (1962), and Mary (Azzara) Triolo (1965); brothers, Melvin "Mel" Triolo (1992), Tony Triolo (1994), John Triolo, Jr. (1949), sister, Catherine Triolo (1943) and nephew Baby Triolo (1957).

Helen was a retired school teacher, had a Bachelors Degree in Education, a graduate of the University of Charleston, and did graduate work at Marshall University and West Virginia University. She was a life member of the National Education Association, West Virginia Education Association, a member of Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, Theater's Honor International Society, Delta Sigma Epson Sorority, sponsor of the cheerleading squad for many years, and advisor for National Honor Society.

Survivors include her brother, Joseph J. (Katherine) Triolo of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Angeline Triolo of Mitchell Heights; Goddaughter, Laura Gore Layland of Knoxville, Tenn., and Godson, Claude Gore of Huntington, W.Va.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Logan, with Father Dave Glockner officiating. There will be no visitation and at the request of the family, the following cemetery services will be private. Burial will take place in the Triolo family plot at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, W.Va.

Pallbearers include Louie J. Martin, Bill Waybright, Carlos J. Lopes, Leonard Codispoti, Phil Zeto and Bob Akers. Honorary Pallbearers include Edward I. Eiland and John W. Bennett.
