LOGAN, W.Va. — Jack Thompson, 77, of Logan, went to be with the Lord Tues., Dec. 10, 2013.
Born July 26, 1936, in Logan, he was a son of the late Merl and Eva Thompson of Logan. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Bill Thompson of Logan and Fred Thompson of Hamlin, and one sister, Merle Saunders of Logan.
Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired college professor at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.
Survivors include his nephews, Merl (Tammy) Thompson of Logan, who were also his caregivers, James (Rita) Saunders of Picayune, Miss., David (Carol) Saunders of Bossier City, La., and Justin Thompson of Logan; a special niece, Hannah Thompson of Logan, and a host of other family members.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. Sat., Dec. 14, with Rev. Keith McClung officiating at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
