James Phillips

COW CREEK, W.Va. — James Benjamin "J.B." Phillips, 86, of Cow Creek, departed this life Mon., Nov. 18, 2013, at his residence.

Born January 13, 1927, in Chattaroy, he was a son of the late William Walter and Anna Bentley Phillips. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Margaret Yettabee Thern Phillips.

J.B. was a retired coal miner, served in the U.S. Navy and attended the Christian Fellowship Center.

Those left to cherish his memories include four sons, Craig Phillips and Harold (Eldonna) Phillips, both of Cow Creek, Ronnie (Cynthia) Phillips of Orlando, Fla., and Eddie Phillips of Olympia, Wash.; two daughters, Anna (George) Curry of Thomasville, N.C., and Kim (David) Jones of Huntington; one sister, Margaret Austin of Ocala, Fla.; 19 grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

At the request of J.B., there will be no services. His place of burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
