BLAIR, W.Va. — Alfred L. Jones, 88, of Blair, died March 9, 2014, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, W.Va.

He was a retired coal miner, member of UMWA and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his daughter, Judy McNeely of Blair; son, Donald Jones of Fairmont, W.Va.; sister, LaDonna Jones of Danville; grandchildren, Paula Wells of Sissonville, Richard M. McNeely Jr. of Jeffrey and Donald Jones II of Fairmont, W.Va.; great- grandchildren, Richard McNeely III of Jeffrey and Ashley Frye of Sissonville; great-great-grandchildren, Jaxon Frye and Johnna Frye of Sissonville and Raevyn McNeely of Jeffrey.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2014, at Boone Memorial Park, Madison, W.Va., with military rites by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578, Madison, with Ralph Caudill officiating.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville.
