VERDUNVILLE, W.Va. — Joy Mullins Workman, 83, of Verdunville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 28, 2013.
Born January 9, 1930, in Bartley, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Nell Armstrong Grubb. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Grover "Bill" Mullins; two sons, John Daniel and Kenneth Ray Mullins; two sisters, June Harlow and Jacqueline Dingess; and one brother, Joe Grubb.
Joy loved her family dearly and was a devoted school teacher for 27 years. She gave her life to the Lord 59 years ago and went to church as often as she could. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and quilting for home and church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Howard Workman; two daughters, Judy Lynn (Paul) Vance and Billie Gay (Ellis) Vance, both of Dingess; one son, Eddie (Trish) Mullins of Dingess; two brothers, Charles (Polly) Grubb of Illinois and Ronnie (Regina) Grubb of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, Andrew Isaiah Woody.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, at Maryetta United Baptist Church, Verdunville, with Rev. Lonnie Gore officiating. Burial will follow at Mullins-Marcum Family Cemetery, East Fork, 12 Pole, Dingess.
Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
