Oceal Stollings

CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Oceal "Yogi" Stollings 83, of Chapmanville, departed this life Tues., April 29, 2014, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born March 10, 1931, in Chapmanville, he was a son of the late Dewey and Oma Fillinger Stollings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenda Marie Stollings; his only son, Brett Ryan Stollings, and one brother, Truman Stollings.

Oceal served in the U.S. Army and was in the Korean War. He retired from Logan Concrete after 38 years of dedicated service. He loved gardening, ginseng and sitting on the porch. Oceal loved to spend time with his family, especially his great grandbabies.

Oceal leaves behind three daughters, Fran (Charles "Stoney") Stone of Stollings, Letonia Sabo of Chapmanville and Angela (Mike "Whitey") Workman of Williamstown; four grandchildren, Tonnie Michele Frye (Ramon) of Holden, Eric (Kimberly Acord) Stollings Sr. of Chapmanville, Curtis Lee Frye II of Chapmanville, and Bianca Marie Workman (fiancé, Richie Harris) of Vienna; five great-grandchildren, Cameron Gauge Frye, Eric "EJ" Stollings Jr, Carson Zane Frye and Cade Maddox Frye, all of Chapmanville, and Alexis Marie Robinson of Vienna; three sisters, Zelda Pridemore of Chapmanville, Mildred (Joe) Spencer of Georgia, and Mabel Leaster of Logan, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sun., May 4, at Freeman Funeral Home with Jonny Slazo officiating. Burial will follow at Bell Family Cemetery at Mitchell Heights.

Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Lee Frye II, Eric Stollings Sr., Dan Whitt, Lonus Pridemore, Robert "Rad" Dingess and Richie Harris.
