BELO, W.Va. — Robert Michael Jewell, 51, of Day Star Road at Belo, resigned his soul to God Saturday, April 5, 2014, at CAMC Memorial Division at Charleston, W.Va., after a brief illness.
He was born October 2, 1962, at Holden, W.Va., the son of Carol Sue and the late Robert James Jewell. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ethel Mounts.
Robert had 30 years experience in the mining industry and was employed at Hobet Mining, Madison, W.Va., as a prep-plant operator. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years and best friend Rachel McCoy Jewell. Other survivors include brothers, Richard Todd (Amanda) Jewell of Pickerington, Ohio, David Shane (Bryna) Jewell of Williamson, W.Va., step-father, Gary Maynard of Day Star Road, Belo, his Hobet family, and a host of friends, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Robert's life will be conducted Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.,. at Fellowship Baptist Church at Lenore, WV.
In lieu of flowers donations in the memory of Robert can be made to Save Our Strays at 409 Deskins Drive, Williamson, WV 25661.
Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville, W.Va. are in charge of the arrangements.
