CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Ermil Freeman, 79, of Chapmanville, departed this life Tues., April 15, 2014, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born March 19, 1935, in Whitman, he was a son of the late Alfred and Dorothy Moore Freeman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Freeman, Merlin (Dot) Freeman, and Earl Freeman, and one sister, Helen Freeman Maynard.
Ermil enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved spending time outside and being a mechanic.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 57 years, Edna Mae Freeman; three daughters, Dianna (Stephen) Perry, Peggy Hensley, and Greta Freeman; one son Ermil A. Freeman Jr.; one brother, Dale (Brenda) Freeman; five grandchildren, Stephen Perry II, Chad Perry, Ashley Adkins, Jonathon Hensley, and Bayleigh Salisbury; six great-grandchildren, Katilyn Perry, Sydney Perry, Ashton Adkins, Austin Adkins, Mia Adkins, and Zoe Purkey; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Freeman, and one brother-in-law, Bill Maynard.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tues., April 22, at Church of God in the Name of Jesus Christ with Johnny Meade officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. Monday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jonathon Hensley, Chad Perry, Stephen Perry, David Adkins, Steven Freeman and Jason Freeman.
