HARTS, W.Va. — Ola David Browning Sr., 69, of Harts, departed this life Mon., April 21, 2014, at St. Mary's Medical Center at Huntington.
Born Aug. 30, 1944, at Harts, he was a son of the late Herman and Lizzie Toppings Browning.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Browning; one brother, Glen Browning, and one grandson, Brayden David Browning.
Dave enjoyed working on old cars and riding Harley Davidsons. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Dave was a member of the UMWA and Nitro Moose Lodge.
Those left to cherish his memory include five sons, Ola David (Anita) Browning of Ranger, Timothy Browning of Columbus, Ohio, and Darrin Browning, Gregory (Misty) Browning and Brian (Liz) Browning, all of Harts; three sisters, Opal Dalton, Doyle Adkins and Janet Vance; one brother, Miles Browning; five grandchildren, Harrison (Tiffani) Browning, Katelyn Browning, Baylee Browning, Hunter Browning, and P.D. Browning; three step-grandchildren, Stephanie Harris, Andrew Messinger and Kimberly (Ashley) Dalton; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Bentley Browning; three step-great-grandchildren, Tatum and Canaan Petry and Dakota Dalton; his special friends, Rachel Farley, Matthew Simmons, Virgil Toppins, Linzie Queen, Emmit Watts; and his dog, Chewy.
Services will be held at noon Fri., April 25, at Guyan Freewill Baptist Church at Little Harts with Tommy Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Dalton-Browning Memory Gardens at Harts.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral Friday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Darrel Dalton, Dale Dalton, Doug Sparks, Bill Frazier, Herbie Spaulding and Ollie Workman.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
