GODBY HEIGHTS, W.Va. — Michael Brent Smith, 57, of Godby Heights, went home to be with the Lord Fri., April 25, 2014, at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
Born July 27, 1956, in Logan, he was a son of Jewel Lorraine (Keith) Smith and the late Troy Eugene Smith.
Michael was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. His passion was working with cars; he owned Autobody Specialist until he became disabled. Michael loved doing plays and spending time with his family. He was very artistic, loved doing anything outdoors and was always looking for a new project. Michael was a very involved father, always involved in local theater and re-enactments. His favorite hobbies were working on the house, riding on his riding lawn mower and relaxing by the pool.
Michael will be greatly missed by his family who knows they will be re-united with him again someday.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sharon Conner Workman Smith; his daughter, Laura Ann Hatfield; one brother, Marcus Keith; his honorary sister, Sharon Hatfield, and cousin and friend, Brenda Harbor.
Services will be held at noon Fri., May 2, at Calvary Baptist Church, Airport Road, Chapmanville, with Pastor John Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Freeman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
