LEES SUMMIT, Mo. — Maxine Lucas, 74, of Lees Summit, Mo., departed this life at her home Sun., June 22, 2014.
She was born in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late John Walter and Hazel Sheppard Kinser. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Billy Ray Lucas, from Harts; her son, Gerald Lucas, and her eight siblings: Ossie Kinser, Sylvia Williamson, George Kinser, Pearlie Marcum, Wade Kinser, Orvil Kinser, Zola Bryant, and Ida McCloud.
Maxine simply loved her family with all her heart and found great joy in spending time with them. She also was constantly sharing with everyone her love for Jesus and her thankfulness for His goodness. Maxine joined her husband Bill in Heaven this year on his birthday.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters: LaDonna (Dennis Metty and Mark Varoskovic-deceased), Theresa (Ronald Ziegler), Pamela (Timothy Bardy), and one son, Larry (Shelly Lucas). Maxine was so proud of her 12 grandchildren: William and Kyle (Varoskovic); Kristina, Kelley, Jessica, Jason, Joshua (Ziegler); Amanda, Josiah, Zachary (Bardy); Amy and Andrew (Lucas), and one soon coming great-granddaughter, Lyla Rose. She has one precious sister remaining, Susan (Wornie Meeks), along with a host of dear nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at noon Sat., June 28, at Freeman Funeral Home with Wornie Meeks officiating. Burial will follow at Frye-Adkins Cemetery at Little Harts.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her son, sons-in-law and grandsons.
