SANTA MARIA, Calif. — Lois Gore Blanco, 76, of Santa Maria, Calif., formerly of Logan, passed away suddenly Monday, August 26, 2013.
Born May 31, 1937, in Logan, she was a daughter of the late Jennings and Ethel Gore. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Elias Blanco; a son, Gilbert Blanco, and a brother, Jerome "Doc" Gore.
After graduating from high school, Lois met the love of her life and married Elias Blanco who was in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Ohio at that time; then they moved to Santa Maria, Calif. and raised five children. Elias and Lois loved traveling around with The Travelers from the Elks Lodge 1538. Lois worked in a number of packing sheds for 25 years. Lois loved spending time with family and friends. After the passing of Elias, Lois enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends that had a club called "Ladies of the Vine" and those girls would have a blast. She also enjoyed spending time in her backyard enjoying quite time or fixing up her patio. Lois had a beautiful accent being from back east in the Hills of West Virginia, her daughters and girlfriends would imitate her at BBQs or gatherings and they would all just laugh, Lois loved it. Lois was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include two brothers, Larry (Rebecca) Gore of Lake and Daniel Gore of Marion, Ohio; her children, Rebecca Pico, Sabrina (Michael) Hrynezuk, and Michael Blanco, all of Santa Maria, and Erica (John) Crowson of St. George, Utah; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and a host of additional family and friends.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, at the Chapel of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary in Santa Maria. A reception of life followed the services.
