Leonard O. Brown Jr., 40, of Spartanburg, S.C., passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013.

He was born Feb. 11, 1973, in Pike Co, Ky., the son of Leonard and Loraine Brown, and the brother of Denise (Brown) Chipps. He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins.

Lenny, as everyone called him, was a welder as well as a jack of many trades. He had been sick for many years with a lung disease, which finally claimed his life.

We as a family know he is no longer suffering, for that, we are happy. Our hearts are heavy, saddened and burdened by his loss. Lenny will be missed by many, for he made friends wherever he went. He was a gentle giant, a very hard worker and a man of few words.

He had hopes and dreams he was never able to achieve due to his illness, but he took each day as it was. As his sister who should not be writing his obituary, remember to cherish the ones you love, for they can be taken away at any time.

Collins Funeral Home at Logan, W.Va. will be handling the arrangements. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 6 p.m. for family, 7 p.m. for all others. A service will be held Wed. Oct 2, 1 p.m., at Collins Funeral Home, with burial to follow at McCloud Cemetery, Dingess W.Va.
