Mary O'Dea Obituary
Mary E. O'Dea of Sparkill, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. She was 85 years old.
Mary was retired from the New York Telephone Company. Mary was born on April 12, 1931 in Manhattan, NY to John and Mary (Lenihan) Duffy. She was raised in Washington Heights, NY and was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory Academy in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Mary was a hard working woman who raised two children. She loved God, her family, and the New York Yankees.
Mary is the loving mother of MaryLynne Schiller (James) of Pearl River, NY and Cliff O'Dea (Jane) of FL. She is survived by her adoring grandchildren KerriLynne Schiller, Christopher (Lana) Schiller, John (Liz) Schiller, and Robert (Amber) Schiller, her great-grandchildren, and her cousin, Tom Duffy. She is predeceased by her brother, John Duffy.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Aedan's R.C. Church in Pearl River, NY. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Visiting is on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. in Pearl River, NY. In lieu of flowers, friends may send a memorial donation in Mary's name to a charity of your choice.
