Picaso, Rita L. Rita L. Picaso, 97 of Suffern, NY, passed away peacefully at the Montrose Veterans Home on July 29th. Wife of the late Jose H. Picaso, she is survived by her daughter Kathleen J. Shepard, her husband James, son Gerard J. Picaso, his wife Barbara, brother Gerard Lissner, sister Mary Buhmann, grand children Jill Picaso, John and Scott Mackenzie and eleven great grand children. Rita was born in the Bronx where she worked as a buyer of women's fashion wear for Sterns. During World War II she served in the WAC's achieving the rank of Sargent Major. During her life as a loving mother and wife, she lived in Bronxville , NY where she served as President of the PTA at School #8 and then at Roosevelt High School. Upon the death of her husband she moved to Suffern, NY and was employed by Macys as the manager of the fine jewelry division. She was an avid golfer, a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern and was a friend to all she met. She was most known for her keen sense of humor and wit. The family will be planning a memorial service in the future. Donations in her name can be made to NY State Veterans Home at Montrose or the Wounded Veterans. Pires, Michael J.*  
Pires, Michael J. Michael J. Pires, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, passed away July 19, 2015 following a year long battle with cancer. Born October 25, 1951 to James and Carminda Pires, Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Military Police at Ft. Gordon, Ga. Following his honorable discharge from The Army, Michael worked in the office furniture and marine supply businesses. Pre-deceased by his parents, he is survived by his brother Steve (Irene), nephew Brian and niece Lori Magnante (Chris). Also, great niece and nephews Minda, Joseph and Brandon. The family would like to extend its thanks to the staff of The James J. Peters V.A. Medical Center, Bronx NY for the compassion and care given to Michael during his long and difficult battle and to The Calvary Home Hospice Team for their end-of-life care. Piscani, Frank Carlo Frank Carlo Piscani, 73, beloved husband of Carol Piscani for 56 years, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at home in SC after a long, heroic battle with cancer. He was born on September 30, 1941 in Manhattan to the late Emil and Filomena (Soreca) Piscani and later settled in the Bronx, NY. He and his wife moved to New City, NY in 1971 with their 3 children. He retired as a sergeant of the NYC Transit Police Department after 20 years and was self-employed until he completely retired to SC in January 2006. He fully embraced retired life, spending time traveling the world with his wife and pursing his new found passion, pickle ball, becoming a SC state champion. He is survived and sorely missed by his wife, Carol; children, Frank and Anthony Piscani and Gina Somma; brothers, Carl, Emil, and Patrick Piscani; nine grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial Mass, St. Augustine's Church, New City, NY, Saturday August 8th, 2015 at 11am.

Sullivan, T. Joseph Sullivan, T. Joseph, age 91, of Carmel, NY, formerly of Hawthorne, NY, died July 30, 2015 in Montrose, NY. Joe was born on March 8, 1924 in Providence, RI to John and Mary (McKenna) Sullivan. He was one of seven children. He attended LaSalle Academy in Providence, received a Bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and a Masters from the University of Bridgeport. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII. Joe was previously deceased by Bernadette O'Brien, the love of his life, who he married in 1951 in White Plains, NY. Coach Sullivan began his career at Archbishop Stepinac High School in 1949. Over the years he coached several sports but football was his greatest passion. He also held the positions of Athletic Director and Head of the Physical Education Department. He retired in 1987 after 38 years at the school. It was easily understood why Joseph enjoyed sports of all kinds with his years of involvement as a coach. It was his family, however, that was paramount in his life. Joe is survived by his four children, Janet and Bob Girgus of Mt. Kisco, NY, Gail and Richard Bennett of Carmel, NY, Neil Sullivan of Mt. Kisco, NY and Brian and Emily Sullivan of Southbury, CT. Also four grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren, Nicholas and Matthew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 6, 2015 10:00am at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Carmel, NY. A private cremation was held earlier and interment of the ashes will take place in St. Sylvia's Cemetery in Tivoli, NY at a later date. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave. Brewster on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. www.beecherfuneral home.com . Tucker, Charles, W., Sr. "Pop Tucker" Charles W. Tucker, Sr., "Pop Tucker", a resident of South Nyack, NY for the past 69 years died on Thursday, he was 89 years old. Charlie was born in Chamberlain, Co., Alabama to Nelson and Susan Tucker, he was one of fifteen children. Charlie served in the US Army during WWII. After moving to So. Nyack he was employed by Federal Paper and Board Co. in Piermont, NY for many years. Charlie was an active and dedicated member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Nyack where he served on the Usher Board. He was predeceased by his wife Julia Mae (Dawson) Tucker in 2008, son Jessie Tucker in 1988 and seven brothers. Charlie is survived by his daughter Willie M. Montgomery, son Charles W. Jr., stepdaughter Wanda Tucker, Five brothers: John T., Roosevelt, Eddie, James and George. Two sisters: Mae Fannie Wilson and Louella Hodnett. Five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A Homegoing Service will be held on Wednesday August 5, 2015 at 11 AM at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 80 No. Franklin St. Nyack, NY. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM at Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack and 7 to 9 PM at Pilgrim Baptist Church. Frances Angi AGE: 102 • Bedford Hills, NY, formerly of Mt. Kisco Frances Angi, age 102, a resident of Bedford Hills and Mt. Kisco for the past 87 years passed away on Thursday, July 30. She leaves behind her children Dina Ciavardini, Marie Yozzo and Lenora Conte along with eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Frances was born December 23, 1912 in Mount Kisco, NY. In 1928, she married Richard Angi and lived in Mt. Kisco where they raised their family. Services will be held at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home, 288 E. Main Street, Mt. Kisco on Sunday, August 2 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00. Funeral will be held on Monday, August 3rd at St. Francis of Assisi Parish at 10:00 am.
