Catherine Margaret Ribbe of Nanuet, NY died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Ribbe's employment positions included: United States Treasury Department (CIA, New York City office), General Electric Company, and Hitachi Corporation. Purchased (Born of Earth), a general health food/delicatessen store located in Nyack, NY in July 1985. Operated the store as owner/manager through 2000 when it was sold and renamed (Back to Earth).

Subsequent employment included as a sales associate for Hallmark Card Corporation and assistant store manager at the Museum Company in West Nyack, NY.

Born January 22, 1939 in the Bronx to John P. Duffy and Mary Hughes Duffy. On October 12, 2001, she married David K. Ribbe. Mrs. Ribbe formerly of the Bronx lived in Nanuet for the past 23 years and Manchester, NJ.

Graduated from St. Pius High School in 1957. Received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Mercy College in 1982. Awarded a Polarity Wellness Educator Certificate from the Polarity Wellness Center in New York City in 1989.

Cathy was a student of Byzantine/Russian Iconography including both the history and the "writings" of icons. Active in watercolor painting doing beautiful examples of Van Gogh's works, also talented with head and figure pencil and chalk drawing. Cathy has made many original designed quilts for her family, church and charities. Awarded a Certificate of Merit as a tutor from the Rockland County Chapter of the Literacy Volunteers of America in 2007. Membership in the Danny Thomas-St. Jude Society for faithful support of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, David K. Ribbe of Nanuet; children, Michael Murphy of Pearl River, NY, Laura Murphy of Suffern, NY, John Murphy of Boca Raton, FL, Fred and Mirca Murphy of Monsey, NY and Mark and Melissa Murphy of Sloatsburg, NY; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, Frederick Murphy (1996), sister, Mary D. Murray (2012) and brother, John P. Duffy Jr. (2006).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday at St. Margaret R.C. Church, Pearl River, NY. Private burial will be held at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visiting is Saturday from 7 to 9 PM and Sunday from 3 to 5 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. In lieu of flowers send memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
