Dino F. Lorenzini, a lifelong resident of Mahopac, NY passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday November 22, 2012. He was 93. He was born in Mahopac on October 24, 1919, the son of Alexandro and Maria Olivetti Lorenzini.

Dino attended school in Mahopac and served in the US Army during WWII. Dino was a driver for Patterson Beer Distributors for 19 years. Afterward, he retired as a custodian at Mahopac High School.

Dino was a life member of the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Italian American Club in Mahopac and a member of VFW Post 5491 and American Legion Post 1080, both in Mahopac.

In 1950 he married Agusta Jonsdottir in Iceland. Agusta died on March 16, 2011. He is survived by his children, Thordur Dino and his wife Basha of Bloomingdale, NJ, Agusta Hintze and her husband Edward of Mahopac, Rita of Mahopac, John and his wife Peggy of Wappingers Falls, NY, Peter and his wife Barbara of South Salem, NY and Mary Lee Akard of Ohio as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. His daughter, Catherine Barrett died earlier.

Visiting will be held on Sunday and Monday from 4-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac with interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Brewster, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to any Veterans organization of your choice.
