Gerald C. Cherico 88, formerly of White Plains, N.Y., passed away in San Diego, Ca on Oct 18, 2012. He proudly served in the US Marines as a paratrooper in the Second World War. A past president of the Professional Photographers Association of Calif. and a retired Quality Control Director of Photic Labs, Jerry was awarded the Masters of Photography and the Photographic Craftsman degrees by the PPA for his photographic excellence and continual desire to serve the photography community. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Nancy Fair, of Atlanta, Ga , granddaughter, Sandee Fair and great grandson, Travis Mckee. Also surviving are three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Frank of Ossining, Robert & Alice of Greenwich, Rudolph & Margaret of White Plains, and Katherine Cherico of Hickory, N.C. Fifteen nieces and nephews also survive. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Frank & Mary Cherico, two sons, Gerald Jr. and Gregory Cherico, as well as three brothers, Vincent, Ross, and Arthur and two sisters, Frances Cherico and Frieda Passerelli. A private memorial service will be held in the near future. All of his friends and family on the East and West Coasts will miss him dearly.
