Perkins, Gordon V.

Gordon V. Perkins passed away peacefully April 9, 2013. Born son of M. Vinton Perkins of Baltimore and Alice Morgenthau Perkins of New York City, NY on July 24, 1931. Mr. Perkins attended A.B. Davis High School (Class of 1949) in Mount Vernon, NY and later graduated Bates College of Maine in 1953. His focuses of studies were English, Mathematics, and American History. Gordon served as an Infantry officer with the First Marine Division deployed to Korea. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1961. After military service, he pursued a career in education as a high school teacher and subsequently executive level positions in the educational textbook publishing business. In his latter years, he served as a volunteer with National and State Parks in the Southwest region of the country.

He is survived by his second wife Nona; his son Scott Perkins of Sacramento, CA., daughter Gail Gigantino of Kennesaw, GA., two grandchildren Holly and Evan, and brother Roger Perkins of Auburn, California.
