Hannah, James E.

James E. (Jim) Hannah, 76, a resident of Yorktown Heights for 39 years, died on June 28, 2013 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in Manhattan. Born in Gary, Indiana on October 23, 1936, he was the son of Glenn F., and Elizabeth Hannah. After graduating from Depauw University, and the University of Michigan MBA program, he married his college sweetheart Carol, who survives at home. In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is survived by his three sons, James W. and wife Antonia of Yorktown, John P. and wife Nancy of Brewster, and Peter G. and wife Jennifer of Shoreline, WA. He was a beloved Grandpa to grandchildren Lauren, Colin, and Finn. Jim retired from IBM in 2001 after a 40 year career in management. He served his communities over the years as a Cub Scout leader, a member of the school board, and as a town election inspector. His positive spirit and ready smile are remembered by all who knew him or met him. Calling hours will be held at the Yorktown Funeral Home on Friday, July 5, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, and from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6, at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Yorktown, located at 2880 Crompond Road, Yorktown Heights, NY. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 101 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY. Flowers are welcome, or donations can be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind of Yorktown Heights, NY.
