John J. Hogan Jr.(1944 - 2012)

Hogan Jr., John J.

John J. Hogan, Jr., 68, of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. and Naples, Fla., passed away peacefully on Nov. 28, 2012. He was born on March 30, 1944 to the late John Sr. and Irene Hogan in Monroe, La., but grew up Ardsley, N.Y.

The oldest son of eight children, John was accepted into Harvard University and the University of Notre Dame, but elected to attend Fordham University so that he could live at home to work and pay for school. After graduating from Fordham in 1966, John went on to Columbia University where he received his JD and MBA in 1969.

His success in school continued into his career where he served as a corporate lawyer for the elite law firm Dewey Ballantine LLP for more than 25 years and retired as a senior partner. After leaving the firm, John opened up an asset management company where he managed money for some of the most prominent families in the world at the time.

Although he had an amazing career, John was a true family man and proud of it. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 47 years, Jo Ann, and his loving children, John J. Hogan III and his wife Peggy, Brian Hogan and his wife Jennifer, Chris Hogan and his wife Kimberly, Daisy Neumark and her husband Jack, and his cherished grandchildren, Paige and Jack Hogan, Ava, Bryce, Noelle and Brian Reid Hogan, Kylie and Chloe Hogan, and Sloane and John Reed Neumark. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

A private family memorial will be held in Naples, FL in December.
