Zuckerman, Dr. Lenard H.
Dr. Lenard H. Zuckerman passed away on Monday, July 1 at White Plains Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 91.
Born in Yonkers, New York, Lenard graduated from the University of Michigan
in Ann Arbor before attending Tufts University Dental School where he graduated cum laude and proceeded to practice dentistry in Yonkers with his twin brother Burton for over 40 years.
Lenard married Sally Fisher in 1960 and raised three children. After retiring from dentistry, he and his wife traveled much of the world and were quite active at Temple Emanu-el in Yonkers. Len also was a proud member of the Old Guard of White Plains.
In addition to his wife Sally, daughter Robin Lazrus, and sons Al Lazrus and Dave Zuckerman, Lenard is survived by his sister Barbara Mitler of Ardsley, daughter-in-law Wendy Lazrus, and grandchildren Jason, Leah, Danny and Sonja.
A small service was held at Ferncliff Cemetary on Wednesday, July 3, officiated by Rabbi Jeffrey Brown of Scarsdale Synagogue Temples Tremont and Emanu-El. The family will be receiving visitors at their home in Yonkers for the next few days.
