Linda Jane Halk-Domitrovits, loving mother, grandmother and sister passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Linda was born April 24, 1951 in Manhattan, NY to Jack and Shirley Halk, who she now joins in Heavenly peace. Linda is survived by her beloved children, John and Brian Domitrovits, her daughter-in-law Lauren, cherished grandson Brian II, sister Ellen Halk and brothers John, Robert and Stephen Halk.

While raising her rambunctious boys, Linda graduated from the Columbia University Nursing program with honors, and committed herself to her work as a Nurse Practitioner at Montifiore Hospital, Our Lady of Mercy Hospital and Nyack Hospital for many years. Linda was specifically a Diabetes Nurse Practitioner with a Sub Specialty in HIV/AIDS who additionally worked in a General Practice on weekends. As an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, she was recognized to be A Top Nurse of 2010 by the International Association of Nurses and was considered a World Wide Leader in Healthcare. Linda was a Nursing Professor at both Rockland Community College and Columbia University. She was a true professional and dedicated her life to servicing and caring for others.

A fighter until the end and a pillar of strength, it is with heavy hearts that we say good-bye to a true angel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda's name to 'Homes for Our Troops' (866-787-6677) or 'The Wounded Warrior Project' (877-832-6997). A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, 11am, at St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan.
