Margaret Moritz died at her home in Hartsdale, NY on April 5th at the age of 98. Born in St. Paul MN in 1914, Margaret moved with her family to southern California in 1921. She graduated from UCLA
in 1936 and worked as an administrator for the YWCA in Los Angeles and Kansas. In 1941 she married Paul W. Moritz, who at his death, in 1968, was executive director of the International YMCA. In their life together they lived in Seattle, California, China, and New York, and raised four children: Susan, Thomas, Ann (Chesnut), and Deborah. After Paul's sudden death, Margaret returned to work for the YWCA and later became an administrator for the Volunteer Service Bureau of White Plains and for the Westchester Community Foundation. In retirement, she continued to support and serve St. Bartholomew's Church, White Plains, and Hitchcock Church, Scarsdale. She traveled widely with her friends, and loved to entertain them for dinner or bridge parties. Throughout her long life, Margaret cherished her family and her many friends. She was and is dearly loved.
Interment will be private. Memorial gifts could be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Westchester.
