Mary L. Smith passed away peacefully at Northern Manor in Nanuet on May 26, 2013. She is predeceased by her husband Ralph. She was 83 years old. Mary was born in Stony Point on March 5, 1930. She lived most of her life in Nanuet.

Mary worked in the Nanuet School District as a Monitor. She was lovingly referred to as the "Milk Lady". For many years Mary and her husband Ralph chaperoned the teenage "Castle Program" at Nanuet High School. She attended various athletic events, earning her and her husband the title of "Mr. and Mrs. Nanuet".

Her interests included gardening and she had a special love of birds. Mary enjoyed baking for family and friends.

Mary is survived by her daughter Sue and her husband John Vasquez and son Ralph H. Smith Jr.; She is also survived by her grandchildren; Nicholas Vasquez and his wife Rene, Kaitlyn Vasquez, Ryan Smith and Brielle Smith and her great-granddaughter Leni Vasquez.

Visiting hours will be Friday May 31, 2013, from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home with burial at the Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery.
