Cerni, Salvatore A.

Salvatore A. Cerni of Scarsdale NY died January 22, 2013, after a brief illness. He was born in New York City on June 16, 1929, to Philomena and Joseph Cernigliaro. He graduated LaSalle Academy and received a BS and MA from Fordham University. He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict and the Reserves for 24 years. He enjoyed a 32 year career with IBM. His wife of 54 years, Terese (nee McCabe) Cerni of Scarsdale and his daughters, Claire A. Cerni of New York City and Janet E. Cerni of Richmond, California survive him as well as his brother, Joseph Cerni (Dolores), sister-in-law, Adrienne Cernigliaro, pre-deceased by his brother, George. He is also survived and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wake at Bennett's Funeral Home, Scarsdale, Friday, January 25, 2-4:00 pm and 7-9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 26, 10 am, at Saint Pius X, Scarsdale. Burial at a later date, Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations to RJM Haiti Fund, The Ursuline School of New Rochelle, Guiding Eyes for the Blind of Yorktown, or other charity.
