Favareau, Thomas J. "Tommy"

Thomas Joseph "Tommy" Favareau died on July 8, 2013 after a brief illness. Son of Cecelia O'Boyle Favareau and the late John Leo Favareau, Tommy was born in Yonkers on March 16, 1959. Graduate of St. Joseph School and Saunders Trades and Technical High School, he was employed by the Yonkers Department of Parks.

For many years Tommy was an outstanding hockey player and an enthusiastic baseball player. He was fond of and knowledgeable about many kinds of animals. He loved motorcycles.

Tommy is survived by his loving mother, devoted sister Maryellen and dear brother John, all of Yonkers; and also by his dear brother Donald Favareau and sister-in-law Emi Morita of Singapore; as well as by his cousins James Terry, Marie Ellen (James) Maher, Larry (Ann) Butler, Colleen Johnson and Carol Butler; and by their children James Daniel Terry; Daniel, Katherine and Christina Maher; and Jennifer and Jessica Johnson. He is also survived by many, many friends, who will miss his good company, ready wit and legendary generosity.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Thomas J. O'Boyle Memorial Scholarship at St. Peter's School (204 Hawthorne Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10705) will be greatly appreciated.

Calling hours will be at FLYNN MEMORIAL HOME, on South Broadway, on Thursday from 4 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 10 am, at Saint Joseph's Church. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
