Paddock, William G.
William Guild Paddock, CLU of Scarborough, NY, formerly of Scarsdale, NY, passed away gently in his home with his loving family on June 17, 2013. He was born on November 12, 1927, in Albany, NY to the late Stanley P. and Charlotte G. Paddock. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, JoAn Paddock, their two children, Stanley Dwyer, (Antonietta) and Laura Anne, (Milo). He is dearly remembered by his four grandchildren, Juliana, Larissa, Horatio and Shayne.
William attended Hoosac School in upstate New York, then served with the U.S. Army in Korea. As a member of their swim team, he graduated Syracuse University in 1952 with a degree in Sociology. He worked with Equitable Life in New York City for over 40 years where he attained Lifetime Membership of the Million Dollar Round Table, Centurion, Legion of Honor and Hall of Fame status. He served as a volunteer fireman
for the town of Scarsdale for over 30 years and was a member of the town club.
The practice of "The Power of Positive Thinking" was a habitual component of his daily life. A strong believer in giving back; he was a major contributor to many Christian and nonprofit organizations. He was also an avid swimmer, reader and traveler. Many a life of those he came into contact with were enriched. We will all miss his generosity, witty humor, insight and spark in conversations. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. July 20 at Union Church in Pocantico Hills, NY.
