Joseph William Cammarata, beloved husband, father and grandfather has passed. Born in the Bronx, NY on July 26, 1929 to Mary and Louis Cammarata, Joseph was a graduate of De Witt Clinton High School and Fordham University. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He began his career with Con Edison and went on to work for Exxon and Orange & Rockland Utilities. He was a longtime volunteer at the Rosary Hill Home. ??In 1959 he married Kathleen Horey, whose love, patience and care is the definition of devotion. Together they had 5 children, Joseph, Richard, Edward, Mary Frances and Claire. Their family grew to include daughters-in-law Jeannie, Dana and Randie, sons-in-law Avi Bonime and Chris Markle and his 10 grandchildren, Samantha, Marlie and Brynn Cammarata, Davis, Noelle, Jonah, Sophie and Eli Markle, Luke and Amanda Cammarata.??Joe's interests were many. He would speak as passionately about the New York Yankees as he would his Hummel collection. He cherished his Catholic faith, his Italian heritage, his cousins, and his buddies from the Bronx, who were his lifelong friends. He loved music, movies, especially anything filmed in NYC, sports, history, animals, his tomato garden and Montauk. His Lindy Hop partner was the envy of everyone at a wedding.??He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved sister Marion DeMaio and his brother Thomas Cammarata.  ??Visitation will be March 17th, 2-4 and 7-9pm at Moritz Funeral Home, Tappan, NY. A funeral mass will be March 18th, 10am at Our Lady of Sacred Heart, Tappan NY.??In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Rosary Hill Home, Hawthorne, NY or Guiding Eyes, Yorktown Heights, NY.
