Bridget O'Sullivan Obituary
Sister Bridget O'Sullivan, OP, of the Bronx, NY died Aug. 10, 2013 in Einstein Hospital, Bronx, NY. Born in New York, NY on Nov. 13, 1928, Bridget was the daughter of Jeremiah and Sara Nash O'Sullivan. She entered the Dominican Congregation of Our Lady of the Rosary in Sparkill on Sept. 8, 1946 and became known as Sister Ann Eileen, professing her first vows in 1948 and her final vows in 1953. Sister Bridget earned a BS in Education from Fordham University and an MA in Religious Studies from Manhattan College.
Sister Bridget was an elementary and high school teacher and served in the Archdiocese of New York and the Diocese of Brooklyn. She was a Child Care Worker Cardinal McCloskey (1948-1949). She was a teacher at St. Rose of Lima, NY, NY (1949-1954); St. Theresa, Bronx, NY (1954-55); St. Teresa, Woodside, NY (1955-62); Aquinas High School, Bronx, NY (1962-67) and St. Helena/Monsignor Scanlan High School (1967-2011).
Sister Bridget is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, Sparkill, NY on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation is on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Dominican Convent, 175 Rte. 340, Sparkill, NY. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Arrangements are by Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Dominican Sisters at the above address, attn: Sister Mary Murray, President or to the Broderick Brain Foundation.

It was an honor to have worked with Sr. Bridgette. I would always stop by her room when i could and just chat with her. She would always hold my hand and was so sweet. Heaven received a wonderful woman. God Bless

Sr. Bridget was a wonderful role model and friend. She was my religion teacher in Aquinas back in 62-63 and a loving friend when I was the chair of the Science Dept. at Monsignor Scanlan H.S. Just found out we share the same birthday so I am sure we are kindred spirits..Thanks be to God for her presence in all our lives.

Sister Bridget was one of my favorite teachers at Monsignor Scanlan HighSchool. She was loving and compassionate. She was my role model when I became an educator back in 1984. She was a great lady.
