Angelo Saracelli of Somers, NY passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 at the age of 93. A life long resident of Westchester County, Mr. Saracelli was particularly proud of the many homes and buildings he built in Westchester in his fifty years as a carpenter. Mr. Saracelli served his country in World War two as a First Lieutenant in the US Army Air Force in the European Theater. He flew sixty-six missions, including three on D-Day, as a pilot of a B-26 medium bomber, receiving the Air Medal. He was married to Rose Coscia on July 12, 1942. She predeceased him on September 17, 2002. They raised three children, Richard Saracelli of Patterson, NY, James Saracelli of New Milford, Ct, and Laurie Sutton of Somers, NY. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Amanda Saracelli, Katherine Twyman, Anthony Saracelli, and Patrick Sutton, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Saracelli had eight brothers and sisters. All except one, Theresa Guadagno, have predeceased him. With the help of his family, especially his daughter Laurie and his daughters-in-law, Tracey and Gail, and his care givers, Paulette, Dulcie, Maura, and Donna, he was able to remain in his home until his death, as he wished. He was surrounded by family and friends during his last days. Mr. Saracelli died as he had lived, strong and an inspiration to all. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10AM at St. Joseph's Church 10 Croton Falls Rd. Croton Falls, Ny 10519. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Somers Volunteer Ambulance Corps or the Northern Westchester Hospital Hospice Care Program.
