Stewart, Brian Malcolm
Brian Malcolm Stewart of Chestnut Ridge, NY formerly of Queens, NY was born in West Islip Suffolk County, New York. He died Friday, May 18, 2012 at the age of 37 years old.
Sgt. Stewart was an active member of the New York Army National Guard spending his entire 13 years in the 442 MP Unit. He did two tours in Iraq with the last ending in April 2011.
Brian was an amazing person and had a passion for life. Whenever he entered a room, he would uplift everyone's mood and make every occasion a joyous one. Brian was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed help. He was a true leader who set a good example for his younger brother and sisters, Army Unit, cousins and all the friends he came into contact.
Brian was currently enrolled at Rockland Community College working on his Criminal Justice degree with the intent to further his studies and pursue law school.
Brian is survived by his two sons, Fabian, 16 and Isaiah, 5 years old; his parents, Malcolm and Teresa Stewart of Chestnut Ridge, NY; four younger sisters, Monica and her husband Sasan Molana of Castro Valley, CA, Mia Stewart of Watervliet, NY, Sita Stewart of Riverdale, NY, Sri Stewart of Chestnut Ridge, NY and one younger brother, Alexander Stewart of Chestnut Ridge, NY; his nephew, Brandon Stewart and niece, Jaela Cooper of Watervliet, NY.
Family will receive friends on Friday May 25, 2012 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 26, 2012 10AM at St. Augustine's Church, 140 Maple Ave., New City, NY. Interment will follow at Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
