Catherine Courtney Obituary
Catherine Courtney 92, of Valhalla, NY passed away on January 2, 2017. She was born on February 17, 1925 to the late Lawrence and Catherine McDermott in County Galway, Ireland. Catherine was a long time active member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 17. She was selected as an Aide to the Grand Marshall in the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade in 2010. Catherine was also very active in the Holy Name of Jesus Church spending many years assisting with the Religious Education Program. She is predeceased by her loving Husband Bernard. Also predeceased by two brothers Luke and John McDermott, and one sister Molly Ryan. She is survived by her sister Annie Gordon of Ireland. Catherine is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. Monday 10 AM. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y. to follow.
