Eileen O'Connor Weber of Briarcliff Manor died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at home. She was 94 and a lifelong Briarcliff resident. Margaret Eileen O'Connor was born in Ossining, New York on June 14, 1918 to Lillian (nee MacDonald) and Daniel J. O'Connor. She attended Briarcliff schools and after graduating from Briarcliff High School she spent two years at Edgewood Park School. She worked at Young and Rubicam for 12 years, rising to become head of Human Resources. In 1952 she began her career in real estate where she became locally famous for her unique flair, outgoing personality and her vast collection of hats. She and Betty Tufts founded Weber-Tufts Real Estate in 1954 in Briarcliff where she remained until 1992. She continued to sell real estate for Houlihan Lawrence until her retirement at age 87.Her brothers, JD "Pete" O'Connor and James Hogan O'Connor, and her husband Jack Weber, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps whom she married in 1946, predeceased her. Eileen was a member of Sleepy Hollow Country Club where she was an avid golfer and bridge player. She was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St. Theresa's Church in Briarcliff where she was active in fundraising campaigns. She was honored many times in her life by The Briarcliff Manor-Scarborough Historical Society (of which she was a founder and past president), the Briarcliff Manor Education Foundation, as an inductee in the Briarcliff High School Hall of Fame, and by various other organizations. Phelps Hospital, the Junior League, and the Easter Seal Society were also beneficiaries of her charitable works. Eileen was known as the "Historian of Briarcliff." She spent her entire life in Briarcliff and considered herself "fortunate to have been born there." Eileen loved to dance and often regaled friends with stories of her victories in Charleston dance contests. Her friends loved her enthusiasm, humor, and positive outlook. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am, Friday, January 4, 2013 at St.Theresa's Church, Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
