Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Marie Lindland Holvig went to be with her precious Savior on Friday, February 8, 2013 in Collierville, Tennessee. Marie was born in Teaneck, New Jersey on August 19, 1926 to Ingvald & Helga Lindland. Marie worked in NYC and eventually moved with her family to New City, NY. She married Carl Holvig on October 19, 1946 They were married for fifty years. She was a member of the Park Evangelical Free Church for many years and taught Sunday School and Pioneer Girls. Marie and her loving husband Carl spent summers since 1982 in Speculator, New York so they could attend the wonderful programs at Camp-of- the-Woods. Carl went to be with the Lord in September, 1996. In 2000 Marie bought a house in Speculator. Her daughter Judy and husband Richard moved from California to live with her. She spent the winters at West Lakes in Boca Raton, Florida where she loved riding her three-wheeler and dipping in the pool. Marie loved to share her faith with anyone she met. Each day she went through her very long prayer list mentioning each person by name. Age did not prevent Marie from doing what she loved most--playing the piano & organ, listening to the Gaithers and playing RummiKub which she usually won. For the last 12 years she attended Adirondack Bible Chapel in Piseco, New York.
Marie is survived by her daughter Judy and husband Richard of Speculator, NY, her son Ken and wife Diann of Lino Lakes, Minnesota and her son Bill and wife Judy of Fonda, New York. She was lovingly called Mom Mom by her 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mission Aviation Fellowship, PO Box 47, Nampa, ID 83653.
There will be a private family burial in New City. The family will host a Celebration of Marie's life at Adirondack Bible Chapel in Piseco, NY on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:30 am
