Riolo, MaryAnn

MaryAnn Riolo, age 78, passed away peacefully the evening of September 7, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born MaryAnn Sarno, October 17, 1934 in Cambridge, MA. She moved to the Riverdale section of the Bronx in 1951 where she met her future husband, Anthony Riolo. They married in 1954. In 1965, MaryAnn and Anthony moved to Yonkers, NY, and later became New City residents in 2000.

MaryAnn's greatest source of pride and accomplishment was raising her three children and watching her eight grandchildren grow and flourish. She also enjoyed the occasional visit to Empire City Casino in Yonkers and the sound of a winning slot machine pull. She and Anthony also enjoyed spending the winter in Lake Worth, Fl. with their many snowbird friends.

MaryAnn is survived by her husband, Anthony of 58 years, her three children, Diane Goneconti and husband Robert, Dominick and wife Janet, David and Carmela and her grandchildren, Danielle and Jackie Goneconti-Gibbons (husband Alex), Frank, Christine and Nicole Riolo, Domenica, Monica and Francesca Riolo. She also leaves behind two nephews, John and Paul Fiore, from her predeceased sister, Mildred.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday Sept. 10 and Wednesday Sept 11. from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at the Joseph W. Sorce F.H. Inc.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 12 at St. Augustine's Church, 114 S. Main Street, New City, NY. Internment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
